I feel less pressured today. Looks like I found a kindred spirit in Deepak Chopra. This highly respected man talks about many things including life after earthly death, peace, the pursuit of inner peace as well as world peace.

I have to feel that when my days on this planet are over, and I find myself with the choice of doing it all over again right here or moving on - I’ll be moving on. I can’t stand any more of the constant war, murder, families ripped apart. It’s nauseating, to say the least.

I make no secret of the fact that I am a dyed-in-the-wool peacenick. I see no possible excuse to take up arms and invade, murder, maim another country and persons within that country.

For the US to still be in Iraq after confessing that there never were any weapons of mass destruction, is unconscionable. It’s like, “Well, while we’re here, we might as well destroy this country’s infrastructure, kill the leader and his sons. Then we’ll take all the oil for ourselves. Why not? We can’t go home empty-handed. We’ll make Saddam out to be Satan himself and the American people will buy it. They buy everything we tell them.”

I guess it worked. Bush is still President. He still gets media attention. He’s still alive. So is his sidekick and mentor, Chaney.

Well, now you know what I stand for. I am an atheist with strong beliefs in what works in the universe. You can go against the laws of the cosmos but payback is imminent. No, you don’t have to be a card-carrying holy-roller, waiving the Bible around like an idiot, to be a solid citizen, a good neighbour, and a loving spouse and parent.
